'Dragon Ball FighterZ' Rumors: New Gameplay Mechanic May Have Been Spotted

Rumored gameplay mechanic may involve the Dragon Balls

"Dragon Ball FighterZ" allows players to participate in chaotic battles while controlling three trusted characters to see how they stack up to other fans.

The 3-on-3 battles have been prominently featured thus far, and some early gameplay teases have shown that fights can go airborne while stages can be destroyed over the course of a match.

Now, an eagle-eyed fan may have just found a clue that there will be yet another gameplay mechanic introduced that could make matches even more interesting.

Spotted recently by EventHubs, Twitter user "@Pssych" posted a series of images that seemed to suggest that there will be a gameplay mechanic related to Dragon Balls included in the fighting game.

The Dragon Balls appeared at the bottom of the screen between two meters. There are seven Dragon Balls in total and they look to be elements of another meter themselves.

The Twitter user also pointed out that it seems as though individual Dragon Balls light up when certain conditions are met. To be more specific, players may have to reach certain combo counts in order to get the Dragon Balls to activate.

Interestingly enough, the Dragon Ball meter may even take into account the actions executed by both players.

Unfortunately, it is still unclear what effects the Dragon Balls may have inside "Dragon Ball FighterZ."

Considering how powerful they are in the series, it is possible that developers may assign important functions to them in the fighting game.

For now, the developers have yet to talk about what those Dragon Balls will do, so fans will just have to stay tuned for that.

The good news for fans is that more details about the fighting game are expected to come out this month courtesy of Game Informer, so the wait may not last that long.

"Dragon Ball FighterZ" is set to be released for the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in February.
