'Dragon Ball FighterZ' Rumors: Players May Receive a Special Bonus From Collecting Dragon Balls During a Match

Players may be able to choose from one of four special bonuses once all the Dragon Balls have been collected

The legendary Dragon Balls are the magical objects that have been sought after by many of the most powerful beings in the "Dragon Ball" universe, which is why it should come as no surprise that these are present as well in "Dragon Ball FighterZ."

Previously, developers acknowledged that these served a purpose in the game. He also hinted that collecting Dragon Balls was actually a gameplay mechanic.

Back then, the developers stopped short of officially revealing what the Dragon Balls were for, but that seems to have changed.

During a recent Bandai Namco livestream, some of the folks trying out the game may have unintentionally revealed what the Dragon Balls are for.

The folks over at Shonengamez.com provided translations of the Dragon Balls' different uses.

Apparently, one of the things players can wish for once the Dragon Balls have been collected is some healing. Players can also wish for a power boost that should give them an advantage over their opponents. The Dragon Balls could also allow players to bring back to life the characters that have already fallen earlier on.

The most interesting wish may be the one about being granted an "undying body." There is a chance that the wish in question could make players invulnerable, and if so, "Dragon Ball FighterZ" players may be asking for that one pretty often.

Twitter user "@Pssychh" noted previously that players may be able to collect Dragon Balls by hitting certain combo counts. Furthermore, both fighters onscreen may be contributing to the same Dragon Ball meter.

There may still be a few more details that need to be revealed about the Dragon Ball-based mechanic in the upcoming fighting game, so fans are going to want to stay tuned for those.

"Dragon Ball FighterZ" is set to be released for the PC, PS4 and Xbox One on Jan. 26.
