'Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2' News: Upcoming DLC to Introduce Two More Characters
Two new characters are officially on board for the upcoming "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" paid downloadable content (DLC).
In the latest issue of V-Jump (via Siliconera), Bandai Namco revealed that "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" is getting a new DLC with two additional characters: Buu (after being absorbed by Gohan) and demon king Dabura.
Joining the two playable characters is a Zamasu mentor, who teaches his deadly attacks to created characters. A release date for the next paid DLC was not announced in the magazine, but there are speculations that it will come out soon.
Comic Book points out that the new DLC's release could be linked to the upcoming Nintendo Switch debut of "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2." After all, the game is slated to arrive on the hybrid console later this week. The ad clearly indicated that DLC characters will be introduced to the Switch and PlayStation 4 versions.
There's still no word on when the DLC arrives on PC and Xbox One, but fans should not worry since there is no reason for Bandai Namco to leave those versions out. A more formal announcement about the DLC is expected to be revealed this month.
Dabura and Buu's arrival was already hinted a few months back when data miners found references to the said characters hidden in the game files. Reports note that coding for two more characters — Half-Corrupted Fused Zamasu and Super Saiyan Rage Trunks — were tucked away in the game as well.
Although both appeared in the fourth DLC pack, the duo was not added as playable characters. There are speculations that they will be included in a future DLC pack since they were found at the time Dabura and Gohan-absorbed Buu codes were discovered.
Developed by Dimps and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment, "Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2" is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Following its Nintendo Switch release in Japan earlier this month, the game will launch on Sept. 22 for the West.
