'Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden' News: Online Battles Coming Soon In Japan

The popular 2D fighting game "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Botuden" on the Nintendo 3DS will be going online soon. Gamers in Japan will soon be able to do online battles, something that the popular game has not been able to do since it was first released. According to a report in Nintendo Life, this is a much needed functionality of game, one that is much awaited by fans of the game. It seems that Bandai Namco has heard what fans have been wanting to see, as they recently announced that online battles will soon be available in Japan through an upcoming game update.

Bandai Namco said that this new functionality will be coming through an update for the game. The update will reportedly be arriving as a free DLC. While no announcement has been made about whether it will be arriving in other Western territories, given the game's popularity, it is likely to make its way to the West soon. "Extreme Botuden" for example, was just recently released in Europe and North America last October 16 and October 20 respectively. In Japan, it was released much earlier in the year, on June 11, 2015.

With online battles, players can now assemble teams of fighters, consisting of favorite Dragon Ball Z characters and challenge other players. The online battles, according to another report in Destructoid, will also be providing new characters with new and unique fighting styles that can be used.
