Drake-Eminem Feud a Joke: How Ebro Darden Fooled Everyone

Darden admitted that Drake was joking when he said he will take on Eminem.

Could there be a Drake and Eminem feud going on? It seemed like it when Darden revealed on Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning that Drake was ready to take on Eminem anytime, and that he had no reason at all to fear the Rap God.

It started with a rumor

Darden first talked about the private conversation he had with Drizzy about Slim Shady and Joe Budden. It was after this conversation that subject of Eminem came up. Apparently, it was Darden who told Drake that Eminem was planning to disrespect him.

Drake laughed and replied, "That's not gonna happen. He'd never do that and if he did, I've got something for him too." Nothing was said about where Darden got the rumor about Eminem's plan of disrespecting Drake, though.

Did Joe Budden cause the feud?

Others speculate that the supposed feud could have been caused by the fact that Eminem signed Drake's foe, who actually used to be his close friend, Budden, to his Shady Records as part of Slaughterhouse 2012. However, since the album Welcome to: Our House was released in the same year, the two have not been able to produce another album. And last year, Budden came up with the song Slaughter Mouse where he mentioned about his lack of communication with Eminem.

Apple Music seems to be the common denominator among Drake, Eminem and Darden. Besides his hosting chores at Hot 97, Darden is also a host on Beats 1. Meanwhile, Drake has his own show in OVOSOUND Radio and has signed an exclusive deal with the music service platform. Eminem also released exclusive material last year through Apple Music.

Twitter thrown into panic

Twitter exploded with tweets about the rumored feud. Fans had different reactions, though, ranging from disbelief, anger and amusement. Some even made a bet on who they think will win the supposed battle. But still, there are questions if there's truth to this rumor, or it's just a joke Ebro is playing on everyone.

Just a joke

Darden has finally come out to say that the "Hotline Bling" rapper was only joking when he made the comment about Eminem. Drake was also quoted to have said that he had no plans of taking on him. Darden went on to say that Drake has too much respect for Eminem to do that.

So why did Darden put Twitter in panic with a joke? Well, according to him, "It was a slow news day!"
