Drew Barrymore 'Loves Being a Mom,' May Let Cameron Diaz Babysit
Actress Drew Barrymore is now the proud mother of two little girls, Olive and Frankie. Before Frankie was born, Barrymore gave an interview in which she noted that she absolutely loves being a mother but is not ready for a babysitter yet, even though friend Cameron Diaz has offered to keep the girls.
"I am loving being a mom," Barrymore told Red Magazine. "Olive is a year and a half now, so the girls will be close together in age. We spend every weekend together. We don't have a babysitter. It's just us. I can't wait to see how that's going to work out with the second one."
Daughter Frankie arrived on Tuesday, April 22, much to the delight of her parents, Barrymore and husband Will Kopelman.
"Happy to announce that today we are the proud parents of our second daughter, Frankie Barrymore Kopelman. Olive has a new little sister, and everyone is healthy and happy," the couple said in a statement to People magazine after her birth.
Now friend Cameron Diaz is eager to meet the newest Barrymore baby girl and spend some time with her good friend -- and possibly babysit if Barrymore will ever allow it.
"I haven't seen her yet but I'm going to this weekend," Diaz told People. "Drew is doing wonderfully. Of course I'll babysit. I'm an auntie!"
For this pregnancy, Barrymore decided to do things a bit differently and actually share the news of the pregnancy with the public.
"Last time I never commented on it and people just stalked me the entire time. So yes, it's happening, it's true. I tried to keep it a secret for as long as possible," Barrymore said. "I'm relieved I'm having another girl. I have everything I need. It's all about hand-me-downs and room sharing and all that stuff. I'm pretty psyched about that!"
Barrymore is also the author of "Find It in Everything," a photo book that she hopes will bring cheer and gratitude, as well as love, to those who read it.
"I have always loved hearts," Barrymore wrote in the book. "The way that continuous line accomplishes the most extraordinary thing – it conveys love."
