Drew Barrymore News: Actress Steps out with Smiles Hours After Divorce Announcement

Hours after she announced her split with Will Kopelman, Drew Barrymore was spotted all-smiles at the Pebble Beach Food 7 Wine event in Carmel, California.

Despite the sad news about her divorce from her husband of almost four years, Barrymore seemed too busy to think of her emotional status as she appeared to be happy and excited during the wine tasting festivities on Saturday.

According to E! News, a video has been posted on the Carmel Road Winery Instagram page wherein the actress invited people to join her at the event. "We are here at the Carmel Road tasting room, so if you are in the Carmel coastline, please come visit us here. It is a gorgeous place to be," she said.

Earlier on Saturday, Barrymore and Kopelman released a statement to People, explaining how they are looking forward to better days despite the split. "Sadly our family is separating legally, although we do not feel this takes away from us being a family...our children are our universe, and we look forward to living the rest of our lives with them as the first priority," the statement reads.

It is unclear how they plan to work on co-parenting the children but a source previously told the outlet that they are planning to stay in New York City since their first child, 3-year-old Olive, will go to preschool in the area. Frankie, the second child, will soon turn 2 and it is expected that the family will stick together during her birthday celebration.

Last year, Barrymore, who is not only a fulfilled actress but also a successful businesswoman, shared how Kopelman is as a father to their two girls. She said at that time that she enjoys watching him caring for the kids. While some people have told her that she should focus on her relationship with Kopelman first, she said it's all about the kids and putting them first could be her way of compensating for the childhood she never experienced.
