Drew Peterson Jailhouse Letters: 'I'm Gonna Be Killed by Cruel Guards,' Peterson Writes
Drew Peterson is not enjoying his time on the other side of law enforcement; the former police sergeant was convicted of murdering his third wife, Kathleen Savio, and is serving 38 years. Peterson's latest letter to his friend and attorney was made public and reveals his misery in prison.
"Prison is all the nightmarish things that one would think," Peterson wrote to Joel Brodsky. "I'm in a cell the size of a broom closet, peeling paint, rusting fixtures, I have no TV or anything and I haven't been out since I got here. The food is terrible and I'm again in solitary confinement," the letter dated March 7 stated.
Peterson began serving his time on Feb. 22 and is currently being housed in protective custody because of his notoriety as well as the fact that he was a former police officer. Those two factors make him a person of interest inside the prison walls, and Peterson is well aware of that fact.

"Joel, did you ever feel that something was going to happen before it does? I feel I'm going to die in here," Peterson wrote. "If the inmates don't get me I'm gonna be killed by the cruel guards."
It's been one year since Peterson was found guilty of Savio's murder. Police have hinted that they believe he may have had something to do with the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy, who has never been found.
In the courtroom, Peterson displayed a rare burst of emotion and yelled, "I did not kill Kathleen!" before he was sentenced.
"Yes, you did. You liar!" Savio's sister, Susan Doman, yelled back. The judge then removed her from the courtroom and sentenced Peterson to 38 years. He will be 93 years old when he is finally released.
Fox 32 asked Doman if she had any response to Peterson's letters, she said she had no sympathy for the man and "just wishes he would die."
