'Duck Dynasty' News: Jep Robertson Suffers Seizure While Hunting
A member of the "Duck Dynasty" clan had a major health scare over the weekend.
According to E! Online, Jep Robertson, the youngest son of Phil Robertson was rushed to the hospital on Oct. 19 after he suffered a seizure while hunting with his brother Willie and a few of their friends.
The "Duck Dynasty" family issued a statement to E! News and said, "Earlier this week while hunting deer, Jep suffered from a seizure. Thankfully, he was in the stand with friends, and Willie was at the hunting camp when it occurred so he was by his side in a matter of minutes."
The website reports that the 36-year old is recovering and that the cause of his seizure has not been discovered.
"He is doing well now, but is still in the hospital for additional tests and observation and he is being treated with antibiotics to cover a range of possible infections believed to have caused the seizure," the family added. "Our family would like to thank everyone for their love and support and ask that you keep Jep, Jessica, and their children in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."
Jep and his wife Jessica are parents to four children, Lily, Merritt, Priscilla, and River. The website reports that the couple has just celebrated their wedding anniversary last Oct. 7.
On Saturday, Jep himself took to Twitter to give fans an update on his condition.
"Well, I about died this past Sunday," he wrote, "I'm doing much better now. Thanks for all the prayers! #seizuresuck #gladtobealive".
He also made light of his health scare by posting a picture of himself on the hospital bed and a photo of actor Steven Seagal, which shows the action hero with a full beard and in an emergency room bed, captioned, "Just like Steven Seagal, I'm hard to kill."
