'Duck Dynasty' Returns to the Delight of Fans (VIDEO)
A&E's hit series "Duck Dynasty" premiered last night, delighting fans of the strangely popular show. Twitter and Facebook lit up with quotes from the show's main characters, as well as running commentary about how much they love the show.
"The girl may be ugly, but if she can cook squirrel and dumplin's, that's the one you go after," said Phil Robertson, one of the show's lively characters. That quote was posted by Kari Manker, followed by, "The bears are back, Jack."
It's a testament to the show's popularity among fans of all ages and demographics. The show is centered on the Robertsons, "a Louisiana bayou family living the American dream as they operate a thriving business while staying true to their family values and lifestyle," says the A&E website.
The Robertsons aren't your typical family, though, as they manage the Duck Commander business. Each member of the family has an important role to play both in the business and in the home life. What makes these people truly unique is the amount of money they spend on unconventional toys: life-size playhouses, cars, and the like.
Of course, physical appearances can be deceiving. None of the Duck Commander millionaires look like an actual, clean-cut millionaire. One of the show's catchphrases is, "The Beards Are Back," and is homage to the men's undistinguished, and often unruly, beards. Fans, of course, love the Robertson men and the situations they find themselves in.
"This is one of my favorite shows!!! Good ole boys from down south who aren't afraid to be themselves. This is what America is lacking. Thank God for them real boys," Tim posted on cartermatt.com
The show currently has over 718,000 likes on Facebook alone. It airs Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. ET on A&E. Viewers can also watch full episodes online.
