Duggar Family News: Jessa and Ben Welcome New Baby to the Family

The Duggar family just got a little bigger as Jessa (Duggar) Seewald and her husband Ben Seewald welcomed their second son last week.

The couple made the announcement on the family website, and they have already taken a new family photo with their newborn son and their firstborn, Spurgeon.

"I think it's really awesome that we have two little boys so close together in age. I know they're going to be best friends and love growing up and doing everything together, so I'm looking forward to seeing that," Jessa said, according to CNN.

Their newborn child was born at 4:26 a.m. on Feb. 6. He weighs 8 lbs. and 11 ounces, and he was 21 3/4 inches long. They have yet to name the baby.

"When the baby was finally born and we got to hold him for the first time, I started crying and I think Ben had tears in his eyes," she stated.

The couple married in 2014 and they have always talked about their desire to adopt. They appeared on TLC's reality TV show "Counting On," a spinoff of "19 Kids and Counting." Her sister and "Counting On" co-star, Jill, is also expecting another baby with her husband Derick. Jessa is Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar's fifth child. Jill is their fourth child.

Speaking of Jim Bob and Michelle, the couple also celebrated the birthday of their 20th child, Tyler, last week. Tyler is the child of Michelle's niece, Rachel Hutchins. The couple became his legal guardians in November of last year. He was already staying with the family four months before the court ruling.

Reports say Hutchins also supported the move because of her personal difficulties. Tyler's birth mother was arrested last April and she's on probation for three years. She gave birth to Tyler when she was a still a teenager.
