"Well, we were gonna go horse-riding and I decided to bring Johannah and Jennifer along cause I knew that they would enjoy that and they got to be the chaperones for this date. And so, Austin made this day really really special, and then he asked me to marry him and I said yes," she recounted.

Austin explained that they felt that they were ready for this next step and that the timing was perfect. He proposed to Joy-Anna after he received the blessing from her father, Jim Bob.

Joy and Austin also expressed their commitment to each other and they are looking forward to all the wedding preparations. Through this process, they also hope to continue getting to know each other on a deeper level.

Joy will be the next Duggar family member to tie the knot following older sister Jinger's wedding to Jeremy Vuolo on Nov. 5, 2016.

In response to the exciting news, various members of the family have sent their well wishes.

"Congratulations, Joy and Austin. We are so excited for you guys!" Duggar matriarch Michelle exclaimed.

Meanwhile, husband Jim Bob recalled a triangle principle that has guided their 34-year marriage. He explained that putting God on top enables couples to become closer to each other and helps them weather the many conflicts that pop up during marriage.

"I'm praying for the same for Joy and Austin that as they seek the Lord in their lives, that God will use them in a mighty way as a ministry team to tell the people about Him," he added.

Jill Duggar and husband Derick Dillard could not celebrate with the rest of the family as they recently returned to their mission in Central America but they still sent their well wishes for the soon-to-be-newlyweds.

"Hey Joy and Austin. Congratulations, we just heard the good news on the engagement," said Derick.

"We're so excited for y'all," Jill added, as their son Israel also seemingly reveled in the good news.

Joy and Austin's nuptials will most likely be featured in upcoming episodes of "Counting On" on TLC.
