'Dumb and Dumber 2' Shoots in September, Jim Carrey Confirmed
"Dumb and Dumber 2," the long-awaited sequel to the 1994 buddy comedy film, may finally be made, according to Peter Farrelly, one of the creators of the original hit movie.
"Dumb and Dumber 2" will begin shooting in September, said Farrelly, who also confirmed that original actors Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels- who played main morons Harry and Lloyd in the film- were on board.
"We're getting set to shoot 'Dumb and Dumber 2' in September," Peter Farrelly told ComingSoon.net. "It's the first sequel we've ever done and we've got Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels back."

There had been reports of Jim Carrey desiring to be involved in the project since last year, which were also confirmed during the interview. The elder half of the renowned Farrelly brothers said that Carrey no longer being "busy" freed up the film for production.
"We've always wanted to do a sequel and finally called Jim up. Jeff always wanted to do it. We always wanted to do it. Jim was busy, but he called and said, 'We've got to do this thing again,'" said the director. "He had just watched 'Dumb and Dumber' and he said, 'This is the perfect sequel. Let's do it.'"
Farrelly was eager to distance himself from the prequel "Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd," however. The Farrelly brothers and original cast were not involved in the flop, which took in only $39 million on a $19 million investment. In comparison, "Dumb and Dumber" made $279 million from a $17 million budget.
"We did not do 'Dumb and Dumberer,'" explained Peter Farrelly. "That was a studio thing."
The announcement, though exciting for fans, is a little dubious- the interview took place on April 1, and an April Fools' joke could be at play. In addition, the Farrelly brothers do have another film, "Three Stooges," to be released Jan. 25, 2013, according to Box Office Mojo. The comedy film could benefit from the free promotion generated by "Dumb and Dumber 2."
