E-Fun Nextbook 8 Review: Features, Specs, Price Overview
Those who are not familiar with E-Fun, a Chinese manufacturer of smartphones and tablets, suddenly came to know the brand when its 8-inch tablet, the Nextbook 8, went on sale last Black Friday in Walmart for only $99. Many were thrilled at the price of this Windows tablet and snapped them up to give as holiday gifts, but is the affordable price enough justification to buy this gadget?
The tablet measures 0.35 x 4.84 x 8.46 inches, and weighs 0.82 pounds. It has an 8-inch display that has a resolution of 1280 x 800. Though the resolution is not as high as other devices in the market, it still offers a clear display but the colors on the screen have the tendency to look quite off when it's viewed a few inches from the center of the device.
The tablet has a rear-facing 8-megapixel camera which does not perform very well in very high or very low light levels, but images taken with it are sharp enough. It also has front-facing 2-megapixel camera.
The tablet has internal storage of 16GB, which can be expanded through a microSD slot up to 64GB. As this device runs on Windows, Microsoft includes a free terabyte of OneDrive storage for one whole year.
Users also get a one year subscription to Office 365 Personal, so one can access Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. It also comes with preinstalled apps such as the Nook ebook reader app. The E-Fun Nextbook 8 is powered by a quad-core processor and the battery lasts for about 6 hours on a single charge.
All in all, the E-Fun Nextbook 8 is an inexpensive product that can serve as a basic tablet for those who are not too concerned with the quality of the device, and it's also ideal for those looking for a device to give as a gift to school-aged children. Those who were not able to get this last Black Friday can still get this tablet at its regular price of $150.
