'Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair' Gets European Release Date, New DLC
Gamers from Europe will soon be able to play "Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair," as well as get a hold on a new DLC.
"Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair" launches next month in Europe
Publisher PQube has announced "Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair's" release date in Europe. The game, which was released in North America and Japan last year, will be available to gamers in the region on Feb. 12 for £44.99.
Another "EDF" title, "Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space," will also be arriving on the same date for the PS Vita. The game will sell for £29.99.
Gamers who will pre-order both games from Rice Digital will receive a limited edition t-shirt that features the Earth Defense Force emblem.
Both games are re-imaginings of previously released titles in the series. "Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair" is a remaster of "Earth Defense Force 2025," while "Earth Defense Force 2: Invaders from Planet Space" is a remaster of "Earth Defense Force 2."
Time of Mutants Mission Pack 1
In addition to a release date, "Earth Defense Force 4.1" has also received a new DLC. XSEED released the new mission pack Time of Mutants on Jan. 12.
The Time of Mutants Mission Pack 1 contains 26 missions described as "the most intense … the EDF has ever faced." While some missions are brand-new, some come from "Earth Defense Force 2025." Those interested can watch a portion of the DLC that was streamed by XSEED previously over at its Twitch channel.
The new "Earth Defense Force 4.1" DLC costs $9.99 at the PlayStation Store. Meanwhile, a second pack called Extreme Battle is forthcoming, according to Destructoid.
