Ed Sheeran Cancels Asian Tour Dates After Bike Accident, Says He Went to the Pub Before the Hospital

Ed Sheeran has canceled some tour dates in Asia due to injuries he sustained after a bike accident.

The British crooner announced the news himself on Instagram, coupled with a photo of his injured arm. He revealed that shows in Taipei, Osaka, Seoul, Tokyo, and Hong Kong have been affected due to his injury.

"A visit to my doctors confirmed fractures in my right wrist and left elbow that will leave me unable to perform live concerts for the immediate future," he said in the caption.

He further revealed that other shows may or may not get canceled, depending on the outcome of his recovery. Since the "Galway Girl" singer performs alone in his concerts, having an injured arm will definitely put a hamper on his guitar-playing. And it does not seem like Sheeran will make use of a band anytime soon.

"I don't feel like if I suddenly got a band, everyone would go, 'Wow.' I actually feel it'd take away from me," he told BBC earlier this year. He has also been advised not to force his arm to play when it has not fully healed yet, as this will result in a possibility of not being able to play guitar at all in the future.

According to PEOPLE, Sheeran recounted the accident in a new episode of "The Jonathan Ross Show," which will not air until Saturday. "I broke my wrist, my elbow and my rib. I came off a bike quite fast, a bicycle, a pedal bike. I was in Suffolk [going down a really steep hill]," he said.

That said, perhaps the most interesting part of his story is that the "Shape of You" singer did not immediately head to the hospital after the accident. He recalled that he just stood back up and went straight to the pub for a drink. It was not until the next morning when he was in immense pain that he realized he had to go to the hospital to get treated.
