'Electric Dreams' Episode 6 Spoilers: Bryan Cranston Stars in 'Human Is'

"Electric Dreams" have gone as far as four episodes into their daring adaptation of Philip K. Dick's writings for the TV, and each installment has been as eye-opening as they have been star-studded. This time, executive producer Bryan Cranston steps in front of the camera for the show's sixth episode.

Episode six will be delayed for a week, though. Live Formula One coverage is taking over the show's timeslot on Sunday, Oct. 22, instead, according to Radio Times. "Electric Dreams" will resume airing on Oct. 29 with more sci-fi anthology adaptations.

When it does come on air two weeks from now, fans will get to see the show's executive producer Bryan Cranston starring in the new episode. The next installment is called "Human Is," and it is based on another short story by Philip K. Dick of the same title.

As it stands, this is also the last episode for this year that Channel 4 has announced so far. Cranston takes on the role of an emotionally abusive husband to his wife (Essie Davis), who has been unhappy about their relationship for years,

Her husband leaves for a war on another planet. He then returns unharmed and even improved. He is now "utterly transformed" into the complete opposite of how he used to act, especially towards his wife. What could have brought on this sudden and complete change?

Things could be shaken up for the TV adaptation, as "Electric Dreams" tends to do as shown in the first four episodes. Basing on the original material, however, which was first published in "Startling Stories" in 1955, the husband's turnaround is something literally out of this world.

According to the short story, the husband's mission has taken him to an assignment to survey the dying planet Rexor IV. During his brief stay there, however, his psyche was taken over by a Rexorian. The alien, only too happy to get off the dying planet, turns the husband into a loving, positive person, albeit one who is no longer fully human.

"Electric Dreams" is set to return in less than two weeks, after the show takes a week off this month. "Human Is" airs on Sunday, Oct. 29, on Channel 4.
