'Elementary' Season 4 Cast News, Spoilers: When Will Natalie Dormer's Moriarty Return?
The highly-anticipated Season 4 premiere of CBS' hit TV series "Elementary" just aired this week and indeed, it opened up with a lot of great revelations including that of Morland's (John Noble) reappearance in Sherlock's (Jonny Lee Miller) life.
The season primer also gave off one particularly interesting aspect that a lot of fans may find a bit shocking. In the episode, Sherlock tried to imagine his life in prison and told his trusty companion, Joan Watson (Lucy Liu) that they should maintain correspondence, just as he and Moriarty do.
The fact that the sleuth is still in contact with the baddie makes people think that sooner or later, the character, played by Natalie Dormer, will once again return to the show.
TVLine wrote that the possibility of Moriarty's reappearance will greatly depend on the "Game of Thrones" star's schedule.
Citing the statement given by executive producer Rob Doherty during an interview with the media outlet, it is revealed that the show plans on having Moriarty appear in the flesh probably before the current season ends.
"I reached out to Natalie recently because I did have some ideas and was hoping we'd be able to see her towards the end of the season. But she is acting in a movie [titled In Darkness] that she co-wrote," the EP told TVLine.
The showrunner, however, added that at the moment "the odds are slim, but the door is not shut."
"She is a friend of the show, for sure, and we love having her around," Doherty said.
Meanwhile, the synopsis for the next episode titled "Evidence of Things Not Seen" was shared over at The Futon Critic and indicates that with no work coming in for Watson, Sherlock's sober companion might have to work with the FBI to tackle a triple homicide that took place in a top-secret research lab. Should the fans expect the brilliant detective to be on this gig as well?
"Elementary" Season 4 airs Thursdays, at 10 p.m. on CBS.
