'Elementary' Season 5 Updates: Sherlock Has Two Accomplices, Cast to Come Back from Past Season, Special 100th Episode, Spoilers, Release Date
"Elementary" Season 5 airs a special 100th episode that will feature a character to come back from the past. The Show airs a few weeks from now.
CBS crime drama show "Elementary" will soon be back with its fifth season and it looks like Sherlock will be able to solve more cases with two accomplices while a cast from the past may come visit during the show's 100th episode.
Watson will save the day, again
Joan Watson, played by Lucy Liu, will once again save the day in the next season. Watson's resourcefulness will continue to help Sherlock while Shinwell Johnson will show up. Apparently, he is an old patient of Watson when she was still a surgeon. Shinwell Johnson will be played by Nelsan Ellus of "True Blood."
Johnson as an accomplice
Johnson may be a worthwhile accomplice given his criminal background. He is willing to go undercover to join criminal groups to get information that could help Sherlock. Reports say that Johnson will prove very useful to Sherlock that Watson will persuade him to keep him as an assistant in case he needs help in the future.
"Elementary" special 100th episode
Aside from expecting the airing of "Elementary" Season 5 in October, fans are also in for a treat as creators of the show will revive the series with a special 100th episode. Most of the cast members will come back to reprise their roles but a special guest star will grace this show's special episode.
'Henny Penny The Sky Is Falling'
"Elementary" will feature a special hour-long episode called "Henny Penny The Sky Is Falling". And in this first episode of Season 5, Owain Yeoman who plays Wayne Rigsby of "The Mentalist" will be Holmes' boarding school friend. He will help Sherlock solve a case of a man murdered after preventing asteroids from hitting the earth. Yeoman finds it fun helping out Holmes as he finds leads for the case.
Jamie Moriarty, Holmes' nemesis, is rumored to return. Natalie Dormer who plays Jamie Moriarty, also played Margaery Tyrell in "Game of Thrones". Dormer's character in the hit HBO series has died and this could make her come back in "Elementary". Dormer did not confirm this comeback because of her other commitments in TV. However, if she chooses to return, and a good schedule has been arranged for the actress, she might just appear in Season 5.
Robert Doherty, creator of "Elementary" also hinted at the possible return of Mycroft, Sherlock's brother. Doherty said that he would like to see the brothers reunite with their father. The possible plot would revolve around Mycroft and Watson since the two had a complex past.

"Elementary" Season 5 will air on October 2, Sunday, at 10 p.m. on CBS.
