Elephant Man Faces Rape Charges in Jamaica
"Elephant Man," otherwise known as Mr. O'Neil Bryan, has been arrested Tuesday on charges of sexual assault in Jamaica.
According to reports the dancehall artist was in his home in St. Andrews earlier this month, when an incident occurred between him and a 31 year old woman.
According to Go Jamaica, following that incident the woman filed a complaint with the police with the Sexual Offenses and Child Abuse Department, claiming that she was sexually assaulted.
Following a police investigation into the incident Elephant Man was arrested yesterday. According to reports he was accompanied by his lawyer Linda Wright when he was taken into custody.
This morning a court granted him $400,000 bail, and he is now scheduled to appear in court on May 24, 2012 at the Corporate Area Magistrate's Court for a preliminary hearing. He is being charged with grievous sexual assault and rape.
In other unrelated charges it appears that he will also go before the court to defend himself against charges of stealing electricity.
