Eman Moss and Tiffany Moss Face Murder Charges After 10-Year-Olds Body Found Burned in Garbage Can

Eman and Tiffany Moss were charged with murder after police discovered the charred remains of a 10-year-old girl at a Lawrenceville, Ga., apartment complex on Saturday.

The father and stepmother of the girl are being held without bond in the Gwinnett County Detention Center on charges of felony murder, cruelty to children and concealing the death of another, a jail spokeswoman told ABC.

The girl's father called police indicating that he was suicidal after revealing that his daughter had died after ingesting an unknown chemical, police said. During the call he revealed that the girl's body was inside the apartment.

Local police received a 911 emergency call and were dispatched to the Moss' residence at 3:43 a.m. on Saturday morning, Gwinnett County Sgt. Brian Doan said in a statement.

"While talking to dispatchers the male stated that there was a dead body with him at the location," said Brian Doan. "He stated that his 10-year-old daughter had drank some type of chemical and was deceased."

Local reports indicate that when officers arrived they found Moss standing outside the apartment complex who than directed officers attention to a trash can in the recreational area on the complex's grounds.

"Officers went over to the trash can and located the badly burned body of the child," Doan said.

Police identified the girl as Emani Moss, but the cause of death has yet to be determined pending an autopsy.

This is not the first time either Eman or Tiffany have been arrested. In 2004, Eman Moss was arrested in Gwinnett for two counts of cruelty to children in the second degree and battery. In 2010, Tiffany Moss was arrested in the county for cruelty to children.

The Gwinnett County Police Criminal Investigations Division is conducting the investigation and it is not known if the couple has a court date or an attorney, the jail spokeswoman said.
