Emily Maynard, Jef Holm Officially Separated? Couple Not Talking to Press

Emily Maynard and Jef Holm have officially separated, sources state. The couple may be the latest affected by the reality TV curse, which has seen numerous couples split soon after their series is over. "The Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" series are notorious for break-ups, and in fact, the most recent "Bachelor" also separated from his significant other this week.

While Maynard and Holm had begun planning their wedding and lives together, trouble was brewing. Rumors frequently circulated that both Maynard and Holm were cheating on one another. Though the couple fought back against the rumors, one insider told People magazine the duo had "drastically cut back on the amount of time they've been spending together recently."

Making the situation even worse is the fact that Maynard's 7-year-old daughter Ricki was involved. The young girl, whose father was killed years ago, had grown fond of Holm and was allowed to meet him on the final episode of "The Bachelorette."

Now Maynard, who has regularly tweeted about her relationship with Holm, seems more determined to focus on herself and Ricki. In fact, the last mention of Holm was on Sept. 19; since then, Maynard's Twitter account has been filled with updates of Ricki's life. Earlier this month she posted a picture of herself with Rickij with the caption: "The reason my heart smiles."

At least one fan noticed that Holm was visibly absent from the photo, but Maynard did not respond directly to the question of his location. Neither Holm nor Maynard has directly addressed the status of their relationship, adding fuel to the fire that they are, in fact, separated.

Since it's inception, the "Bachelor" and "Bachelorette" series have been known for their notoriously unsuccessful matchmaking. In fact, just last week it was announced that Ben Flajnik, the latest "Bachelor," had ended things with his fiancée, Courtney Robertson. She has apparently moved on with one of the bachelors that Maynard rejected.
