Eminem New Album Release News: Rapper Working Behind the Scenes

There's nothing out there that can be confirmed yet. Even so, all signs point to Eminem working hard on new material. When exactly will the rap legend come up with enough pieces for a new album remains to be seen.

Marshall Mathers has not been one to announce his progress on new rhymes, and so far what few of his social media posts have not yielded anything concrete on a release date of his new album. The artist, however, reassured his fans with a definite statement on Twitter:

This was way back in October of last year, although the announcement did not come just to say that he's working on the next album. It also came with the release of a lengthy, eight-minute freestyle called "Campaign Speech." Deemed one of the fieriest freestyles of that year, according to Howl and Echoes, this controversial and somewhat comic freestyle could have been released in response to the nearing victory by then Presidential candidate Donald Trump. Howl and Echoes noted that this piece was nearly two minutes longer than his earlier "Rap God" freestyle included in his "The Marshall Mathers LP 2" album.

Where previously the rapper has stayed relatively quiet in the current scene, this year Eminem has appeared on Big Sean's "No Favours" track. This appearance made some noise in the industry for two reasons. First, Sean is signed to another production G.O.O.D and not Shady, which means both went out of their way to make this collaboration happen. Second, This piece hit number 22 on Billboard's charts, his highest mark since 2013 when "The Monster" hit number one.

It would look like Eminem is ramping up the exposure, and the rapper has already gone ahead and circled two live dates. He will be headlining the Reading and Leeds Festival in August, and fans are already wondering if he will have fresh material on hand. Like Howl and Echoes explained, tour commitments are great indicators that new music is on the way, if not an entirely new album.
