'Empire' News: Superteaser Reveals Truth About Anika's Pregnancy

A new superteaser has been released by "Empire," giving fans a taste of the drama that will break hearts and turn tables on the powerful clan as Anika reveals the truth about her unborn baby's paternity.

In the new clip, Lucious (Terrence Howard) asks Anika (Grace Healey) who the father of her unborn baby is and she answers dryly, "It's Hakeem." While there are a lot of questions lingering about the pregnancy, the drama only builds up as a sequence shows Anika on board an ambulance with Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) watching over her.

Other dramatic scenes build up tension including Lucious telling Anika that she betrayed him. The mom-to-be shoots back with a sarcastic question that throws Lucious back to his dark and greedy past that made him the CEO of Empire.

Meanwhile, Hakeem (Bryshere Gray) is busy with his new-found fame and glory. Fans already know that he ousted his father and took over the company. While the rest of the family seems to be out of his realm, he did welcome Cookie back. It is unclear what he plans, especially with Camilla (Naomi Campbell) obviously pulling the strings on him.

In a recent interview with Variety, showrunner Ilene Chaiken shared a few hints about the upcoming episodes. When asked about Lucious and Cookie's relationship that could possibly be rekindled due to their goal of regaining the company, Chaiken said there are "a lot of opportunities" for the two to work on their differences.

As for Lucious' decision to submit to Cookie's lead for the time being, Chaiken said Cookie will do anything in her power to keep anyone from landing in jail, meaning she will also try to control Lucious' aggressive actions.

Finally, there's Rhonda (Kaitlin Doubleday) and Andre's (Trai Byers) loss that still needs to be cleared up.

When Rhonda woke up from her fall, she couldn't remember if anyone pushed her or if she merely slipped.

Andre is obviously much more affected than Rhonda is and according to Chaiken, their baby's loss will put a "strain" not only on the couple's relationship but also on Andre's fate, now that his heir is gone.

Episode 12 of "Empire" season 2 titled "A Rose by Any Other Name" will air on Wednesday, April 6, at 9 PM on Fox.
