'Empire' Season 3 Episode 10 Spoilers: Jamal Reaches Out to a Fellow Musician in Rehab
Jamal (Jussie Smollett) will find a friend while in rehab in the upcoming midseason premiere of "Empire."
In the episode titled "Sound & Fury," the synopsis (according to TV Guide) reveals that Jamal will meet a fellow musician inside the rehab center. Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) and his family sent him there after realizing he has become so dependent on drugs, he could not function without taking some. After Jamal's successful concert during Angelo's (Taye Diggs) rally, the Lyons united and forced him to get medical help. He had no choice but to comply since he knew that they only meant the best for him.
While in rehab, Jamal will meet Tory Ash (Rumer Willis) and the two will strike a friendship.

Executive producer Sanaa Hamri previously told The Hollywood Reporter that Smollett's character would stay in rehab for a while. Viewers will get to see him adjust to his treatment. According to her, Jamal is in for some difficult times. Hamri said it is important to show the whole rehab process to establish an important point.
"There is a bit of a time jump, and Jamal has to deal with being in rehab first and foremost and kind of healing from, first and foremost, the physical withdrawal and then also psychologically, having to use it as a crutch to perform. We wanted to talk about a lot of artists and very important people do a lot of drugs...it goes hand-in-hand with the music industry, so we feel like it's really important that we address Jamal's addiction and the rehab process," the EP teased, according to THR.
While Jamal is in rehab, his family will be embroiled in another controversy. After revealing that Angelo was involved in a DUI incident when he was a young man, Lucious (Terrence Howard) then proceeds to announce Inferno, his new music project. He vows to take down anyone who stands in his way, especially Cookie. Suffice to say, Cookie is not a happy camper. If Lucious wants war, he will get it, in spades.
"Empire" season 3 episode 10 will air on Wednesday, March 22 at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox.
