'Empire' Season 4 Episode 5 Spoilers: Hakeem's Dirty Dubois Secret to be Exposed
Hakeem (Bryshere Gray) is terrified his mother will finally learn his secret connection to Diana (Phylicia Rashad) in the upcoming episode of "Empire."
In the episode titled "The Fool," the synopsis reveals that the youngest Lyon child is worried that his involvement with the DuBois family will be exposed. The promo shows Hakeem and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) in a serious conversation. He is telling her that he cannot lose Bella, his baby with Anika (Grace Byers). Cookie reminds her son that they are Lyons; they do not run away from problems. Instead, they will face them head on and fight as a family.
Henson had revealed to Variety that once her character discovers the truth about Hakeem and Diana, Cookie would flip out. Her expression in the clip suggests that she is still unaware of the full extent of Hakeem's deal with the Dubois family matriarch, though. It remains unknown whether or not Hakeem will finally get the courage to confess. Meanwhile, Cookie is determined to show the board that Lucious (Terrence Howard) is fine.
After his memory loss was revealed, the directors have become worried about the future of the company. Cookie will try to convince them that Lucious is more than okay by having the press watch him produce songs. Lucious will get help from Eddie Barker (guest star Forest Whitaker) in creating the first 20 for 20 album. Elsewhere, Claudia (guest star Demi Moore) is becoming an integral part of Lucious' recovery. The promo shows that he is starting to remember bits of his life.
On a different note, fans of the FOX series may soon see Cookie joining her family in a musical number. Henson said that it could happen, but the preparation would take too much work, she might change her mind halfway.
"She might, I don't know. They've tried, but I just see how much work the boys have to do when they perform. They're young, and that's what they do. I like to perform, but my thing is more theater. It's not the same. If I was playing a character who was a singer and would go out and command the stage, that could be fun," Henson said.
"Empire" season 4 airs Wednesdays, at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
