Evan Rachel Wood- My Baby is My Focus After Separating From Jamie Bell
Evan Rachel Wood and husband Jamie Bell have separated after less than two years of marriage. The couple announced their breakup on Wednesday but promised to work together to raise their 10-month-old son.
"Evan Rachel Wood and Jamie Bell have decided to separate," their spokesperson told Us Weekly. "They both love and respect one another and will of course remain committed to co-parenting their son. This is a mutual decision and the two remain close friends."
They were last seen together in November, when they attended an event in Los Angeles, leading many to believe that there have been problems in the marriage for quite some time. Evan and Bell began dating eight years ago after connecting at the Sundance Film Festival. The two then starred in Green Day's music video for the hit song "Wake Me Up When September Ends," which focuses on a couple separated by the boy's decision to enter the military.
Their initial relationship did not last, and Wood then famously began dating Marilyn Manson. They announced their engagement in January 2010 but separated later that year, and Wood went back to dating Bell. Two years later they married in a very private ceremony. In 2013, they welcomed a baby boy but want to give him some measure of privacy, even going so far as to not reveal his name 10 months after his birth.
Wood raved about the joy of being a mother in November of last year, when the baby boy was only four months old.
"I've been having separation anxiety because I'm so used to him being right here all the time," Wood told Us Weekly, pointing to her chest. "They kind of become a part of you, you know? It was my dream to be a mom, so I'm loving it. I love it. He's smiling and laughing; he started rolling over; he's grabbing things."
Wood has had a long and successful career in Hollywood since she began acting in the 1990s.
