'Eve Online' News: CCP Games Announce 'Project Aurora'
"Eve Online" is one of the most loved games in the community. Featuring a space-based, multiplayer online role-playing game, its universe has brought many fans from all over the globe. Recently, game developer CCP Games has made the title free to play, as part of their plan to keep the massive fandom interested in what it has to offer since it was first released in 2014. Reports have revealed that they are moving forward as they have announced a mobile version of the game titled, "Project Aurora."
"For years and years we have wanted to bring the EVE Universe to mobile devices in a way that is tailored to the platform and EVE fans. We wanted to find a partner who is passionate about EVE, has a track record of producing high quality and deep mobile games and is capable of creating completely new experiences on mobile," chief executive officer of CPP Games Hilmar Petursson said in a statement, as reported by Engadget. "PlayRaven fit the bill perfectly."
Although "Project Aurora" is merely based on "Eve Online," the new installment is expected to bring to life to many features that it has been known for. Further reports have also revealed that "Project Aurora" will be receiving a soft launch in select countries before it is released all over the globe through iOS' App Store and Android's Google Play. In the meantime, fans can enjoy several other versions of the game, including "Eve Gunjack," which was released for Samsung Gear VR, and its sequel, which was exclusively released for Google's Daydream VR.

"Project Aurora" will be set in the same universe as "Eve Online." The only difference is that it will not be supporting multiplayer online. Furthermore, it is scheduled to be released in 2018. Though no official and specific release date have been given, fans are expecting more details in the coming months.
