Ezra Miller in Early Talks to Be Part of 'Harry Potter' Spinoff

Young actor Ezra Miller is going to be a busy actor in the next three years. The American actor, who preferred to work in independent films early in his career, will be filling big shoes in 2018 when he will play the role of Barry Allen in the solo movie of DC Comics hero "The Flash."

Before he puts on his superhero shoes however, he may be dabbling in a little bit of magic, if recent reports are true. According to a report in Variety, Miller is reportedly in early negotiations to be part of the cast of the upcoming "Harry Potter" spinoff "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

Sources of the report said that Miller has been considered "the favorite" and most recently has emerged as "the choice for the role." The role is reportedly that of Kredan, an individual who wields magic and who meets Newt Scamander, a magizoologist who will be played by Eddie Redmayne. Kredan is one of the four other characters in the film. The three other characters are another boy, Jacob who is also said to be Newt's rival, and two girls, sisters Queenie and Tina.

The role of Tina, the older of the two sisters, has already been cast. Actress Katherine Waterston has signed up to play the role. Queenie and Jacob have yet to be cast. Sources of the report are also saying that the film's director David Yates is eyeing Alison Sudol of "Transparent" for Queenie's role. Jacob, on the other hand, is said to be a tossup between Josh Gad and Michael Cera.

The film is based on J.K. Rowling's novel "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them," which is a book about all the magical creatures in the "Harry Potter" universe. Newt Scamander was the one who put together the book which became a standard textbook in the Hogwarts School of Magic and Wizardry.

The movie will be released in theaters on Nov. 18, 2016.
