Facebook Camera a Dangerous New Tool? Reaches More Users Than Instagram (VIDEO)

In the midst of tumbling stock prices, Facebook has launched a new stand alone camera app for the iPhone. With quick features, you don't even have to sign in every time to upload a picture, and with multi-picture options, this app could be dangerous.

The new Facebook camera app will allow users to share single photos or sets of photos, with an added scroll through function for those viewing the photos. Just what does all of that mean? If it wasn't already easy enough to post bad idea pictures to Facebook, now it will be even easier and quicker.

"Facebook Camera lets you rapidly pick one or more photos, apply filters, tag friends and locations, add a description, and post," TechCrunch reported.

For those who aren't crazy about loading pictures on a Facebook that you may share with co-workers and even bosses, it is important to note the instant tag function on the new app. Now may be a great time to alter tagging settings, if you haven't already.

Of course, Instagram is has already been around for a while, so how is this app going to be any better?

"The best feature of Facebook Camera and its one real selling point over Instagram is multi-photo uploads. This helps you tell a story or share the best photos from a day's outing in a single post," TechCrunch reported. "It's great for if you can't decide which shot is best and don't want to go through the sharing flow over and over."

Editing features will also be available on the app, which includes altering the hues of the photo, a quick touch up feature, and cropping.

"This is a very interesting app, and one that will have deep implications for how we all use Facebook," Robert Scoble, Startup Liaison Officer at Rackspace Managed, commented on the Tech Crunch Blog.

"One major advantage it will have over Instagram is media distribution. Most of us who use Instagram notice that most of our photos just don't get distributed to many of our friends if we shoot them on Instagram. If we upload them separately into Facebook directly they get a LOT more distribution!"

In translation? Users be wary, this app is quick and may reach more of your friends than you would like it to.
