Things are looking up for console gamers who have been waiting for the next "Fallout 4" update and other related releases for the post-apocalyptic video game. The latest patch came through for fans on personal computers and those who have Steam accounts Thursday, and Bethesda assures that the "Fallout 4" 1.5 update on consoles will be released next week on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions.
The announcement from Bethesda served as exciting news for the RPG's players, as the latest update includes fixes on several bugs and glitches plus an increase in game stability, making for better gameplay. It also includes support for the upcoming Far Harbor add-on as well as a fine-tuned Survival Mode.
"Along with support for our upcoming add-on, Far Harbor, and additional gameplay optimizations, the 1.5 Update features the revamped Survival Mode which incorporates a number of changes based on beta feedback. Thanks again to all those who participated! The update is live for everyone on Steam and we anticipate it coming to consoles next week."
Survival Mode features brand new challenges to put to the test players' daring and fortitude with the removal of fast travel, allowing saving only when players sleep, and upping the danger, lethality, diseases, and fatigue that a player encounters.
In the meantime, the Far Harbor DLC will be launched next month and will include new crafting tools and factions, new enemies, and another land mass to explore.
For those who are interested to know, the Creation Kit and developer-supported mods are on beta for PC as of the moment. But for those on console, the mods will be available in May for Xbox One (beginning with a beta) and then in June for PS4.
The Creation Kit shall represent a user-friendly development tool that will allow PC gaming fans to create new quests and items. The kit is the very same one that Bethesda utilized in creating "Fallout 4" and is available for free to anyone who dares to give it a try.
