'Fallout 4' File Size Revealed, DLC Will Not Be Platform-Exclusive

The release date of "Fallout 4" is fast approaching and fans are looking forward to grabbing a copy of it already. While waiting, updates regarding the game are constantly surfacing. The latest update to hit headlines is about the file size of the fourth installment of the "Fallout" franchise.

According to VG 24/7, the official Xbox One store has announced that the file size of "Fallout 4" is just 28.12GB. It may seem small in contrast to other games out there but rest assured, Bethesda has instilled into that small size some large-sized fun. After all, compression technology nowadays is more advanced and developers of the game have most likely made use of those compression technologies in order to come up with a game that will not be too much of a size hog.

In other news, it has been said that the upcoming action role-playing game will not be released as a timed-exclusive on any platform. This was confirmed by Bethesda marketing executive Peter Hines after being asked on Twitter about platform release.

A user asked if additional downloadable content for the studio's upcoming open-world RPG would be accessible on Xbox One first, or if it would be simultaneously released to all platforms. Hines replied, "We aren't doing a DLC exclusive with anyone."

PC Gamer believes that it's good news that the game is not tied to any exclusivity deals. It's a real breather that fans and players of the action-RPG post-apocalypse game will have access to the game whether they are using Xbox One, PS4 or PC. It will have a season pass though but other than that, everyone will be able to enjoy the game all at the same time as soon as it arrives. Also, those who have pre-ordered the game will receive a Perk poster with the game, as stated by International Business Times.

"Fallout 4" will arrive on Nov. 10, 2015.
