'Fallout 4' News: 'Deep Customization' Unveiled at E3 2015

The Electronic Entertainment Expo has already kicked off and among the first game publishers to unveil what's in store for fans of their games was Bethesda. The upcoming "Fallout 4" will be released on Nov. 10. The more exciting piece of news, however, has to do with changes in the game's crafting system.

The report characterized it as a form of "deep customization," with the game allowing players to personalize their game experience as they play in the post-apocalyptic world that is the setting of "Fallout 4."

The game's setting is post-apocalyptic Boston. Players will have a canine companion to help them in the game.

In terms of crafting, players need to look for resources in order to craft materials that they will use for making their homes, which has to be built phase by phase, from the foundation, to the walls and roof. Naturally, there are materials that make for better, safer and more stable houses. Players can also create and personalize their dog's homes.

Homes can be provided with additional security and generator sets, and can actually expand to what can be considered homesteads, with other people living nearby. Security can mean having laser turrets or automated weapons that surround a homestead. This is all part of a complete settlement building system within the game.

Character customization is also a plus feature for the new game, according to another report in Digital Trends. The game allows players to pick a character whether male or female, mold parts of the face, adjust hair and skin tone to "a high level of detail."

Another area of customization is with weapons, which is likened to that of "Borderlands" in terms of levels of gun variations. There will be 50 base weapons and hundreds of modifications to choose from. This also applies to body armor, which can bought and fitted individually, to whatever body part the player feels is in need of protection.
