'Fallout 4' Settlement Just Got a Little Easier with Update 1.3
"Fallout 4" players who find it hard to manage their settlers will find good news in the latest beta update that Bethesda rolled out recently. Among the issues fixed include a number of updates for "Fallout 4" Settlement.
In the game's Steam page, Bethesda posted the patch notes for "Fallout 4's" Steam beta Update 1.3. The update adds several new features to the game, as well as gameplay, quest, and workshop fixes.
Regarding settlements, Update 1.3 lists the following changes:
- Added status menu for settlers in your settlements
- Fixed an issue where Preston would send player to a settlement instead of a dungeon as part of a Minutemen quest
- Fixed a bug that would cause settler counts to appear incorrectly
- Fixed an issue that could prevent the player from setting up a supply line in settlements with a high population
- Fixed issue with certain settlement attacks not generating properly
- Fixed an issue with settlement happiness calculations
- Settlers assigned to weapons stand will now stand next to it
The new status menu is an answer to many "Fallout 4" players' requests. It allows players to know what job is assigned to a particular settler. Assigned jobs are represented by icons that will appear once players select on a settler. Examples of what these icons look like have been posted online by Reddit user StrikerTF2.
Because only icons are displayed, players might find it difficult to determine what specific task was assigned to a settler. For instance, a settler tasked with harvesting food resources will only show a food icon, not the particular crop, according to The BitBag.
In addition to changes pertaining to settlements, the patch notes also detail other new features added and other fixes made by "Fallout 4" Update 1.3.
"Fallout 4's" Update 1.3 is currently available for PC players only. There's no mention about the beta update's availability on consoles yet.
