'Fallout 4' Story Details to Remain A Secret Before Release Date
When it comes to video games, fans want to be posted with new updates. But that wouldn't be the case for "Fallout 4" gamers as the developer Bethesda have decided to keep the story under the wraps until the release date which on Nov. 10. Fans will have to learn to patiently wait for it especially since Bethesda's previous games have been a major success.
Pete Hines, Bethesda's VP of PR and Marketing, said he would be stunned if they said anything else about the story ever again before the games gets released.
"We're going to let everybody experience that in the game as much as possible," Hines told IGN. "But there are certain trade-offs you have to make to build some amount of awareness to what the game is offering, so you're willing to make some sacrifices."
Hines also made some remarks regarding the quick turnaround from reveal to release. He said that Todd Howard, the game director, was the one who largely made the decision. He divulged that Howard would most probably prefer like a week or even a day between announce and launch.
In June, Bethesda confirmed "Fallout 4," a follow-up to "Fallout 3," the critically renowned open-world roleplaying game that was released back in 2008. According to Gamespot, the game was "basically done" before the company even officially announced it in June. The development team is now putting their energy and time in fixing bugs and polishing the game.
Plans for modding and DLC have been put aside for now as they focus on making "Fallout 4" the best game that it can be on the launch date. Hines also stated that Bethesda Game Studios aims to make their games push beyond the boundaries.
"The team believes that this is the biggest, most ambitious game that they've ever made," he said. "And from the guys who made Skyrim, Fallout 3, Oblivion, and Morrowind, that's a pretty lofty goal."
The Fallout 4 release is confirmed for PS4, Xbox One and Windows PCs.
