'Fallout Shelter' Coming to Android Soon
The hit mobile simulation game "Fallout Shelter" will be coming to Android soon. And by soon, Bethesda means "a few months." Bethesda made the announcement through Twitter, confirming that they are working on an Android version of the game.
"Yes, we are also working on Fallout Shelter for Android. Hopefully out in a few months," the developer said,
The game was developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It was released for iOS devices only, after Bethesda's E3 conference on June 14. After the game's release, it has become the most downloaded app on the App store, next to the Facebook app and the YouTube app.
The free to download and play app allows users to become overseers of a Vault, which is essentially a fallout shelter. They need to first build it and eventually manage it by controlling the people living in the Vault and making sure that they have all they need to keep them happy.
According to the app description the App store, "Fallout Shelter puts you in control of a state-of-the-art underground Vault from Vault-Tec. Build the perfect Vault, keep your Dwellers happy, and protect them from the dangers of the Wasteland."
Each Vault has residents who perform different types of activities and the Vault has different parts that have various purposes in order for the community to grow.
According to another report in Eurogamer, Bethesda has more than enough reasons to widen the game's reach because the game has passed Candy Crush Saga in terms of making money from the app. Although the app is free-to-play, its in-app purchase which are lunchboxes. A lunchbox contains four Fallout Shelter cards which are "useful for keeping your vault running and expanding – and keeping your vault dwellers alive and well." Bethesda has not officially shared how much they are earning from the game, but it is said to be bigger than Candy Crush Saga's $2 million a day during the first quarter of 2015.
