'Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald' Wraps Up Filming
Recent reports have revealed that "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald' has wrapped up the principal choreography. In celebration, the crew behind the highly anticipated sequel has released a short teaser.
According to reports, the cast recently celebrated the end of filming. "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" is set to pick up where the first installment left off but will take place in Paris as Newt Salamander (Eddie Redmayne) and his friends are recruited by Dumbledore (Jude Law) to thwart the plans of Grindelwald, who will be controversially portrayed by Johnny Depp. Director David Yates has responded to the criticism of casting Depp as a major character in the film.
"Honestly, there's an issue at the moment where there's a lot of people being accused of things, they're being accused by multiple victims, and it's compelling and frightening," said "Fantastic Beasts 2" director Yates, as reported by NME. "With Johnny, it seems to me there was one person who took a pop at him and claimed something."
"Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling has also responded to the controversy by saying that the show runners have deliberated the situation and has chosen to respect Depp's choice to put the past behind him. Furthermore, the crew has expressed their genuine happiness on having Depp on board the "Fantastic Beasts" set.
Despite the controversy, it seems that filming schedule was not delayed in the slightest. In celebration for the wrap up of production, the crew has released a short teaser that features the cast on the set of "Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald." The film is now in post-production process to finish up loose ends and finalize the sequence of the upcoming installment. Fans believe that there should be no reason for the premiere of the highly anticipated sequel to be delayed.
"Fantastic Beasts: Crimes of Grindelwald" is set to land in theatres on Nov. 16.
