'Far Cry 5' News: Ubisoft Release Gameplay Trailer Featuring 'Friends for Hire' Co-op Mode

A new co-op trailer for "Far Cry 5" was released by Ubisoft at Paris Games Week.

The trailer teases the "Friends for Hire" co-op mode in the upcoming game, which is scheduled to be released early next year. It features some co-op gameplay wherein players can share missions with their friends and fight side by side.

According to Ubisoft's FAQs, apart from the tutorial and introduction, players can play the entire game in co-op mode. After the tutorial, players can proceed to invite other players from their list of friends as a "Friend for Hire," not to be confused with "Guns for Hire." Players can invite only up to one friend on the same console to play co-op. All of the game's missions can be played and accomplished in co-op.

However, an internet connection is required in order to play co-op in the game. Aside from this, players on consoles need to be either a PS Plus member or Xbox Live Gold member.

In co-op mode, there will be a host and a guest. Only the host is privy to certain features of the game. For example, only the host can turn on Friendly Fire or interact with NPC giving quests. When it comes to progression, the host player will be able to keep both their World Progression and Player Progression as normal. Unfortunately, guest players or the Friend for Hire will only be able to keep their Player Progression.

This is not the first trailer Ubisoft has released for "Far Cry 5." Earlier this year, gameplay footage showcasing how vehicles can be used as weapons was released. Players can get creative when it comes to utilizing in-game vehicles like cars and planes. They can be used to get from one place to another and even kill enemies.

"Far Cry 5" will be released on Feb. 27, 2018 on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
