'Fargo' Season 3 News, Air Date: New Teaser Features Ewan McGregor's Ray Stussy, Mary Elizabeth Winstead's Nikki Swango
FX has released another promo for the third season of "Fargo." This time, however, it offers fans a first glimpse at Ewan McGregor's Ray Stussy and Mary Elizabeth Winstead's Nikki Swango.
The 30-second clip features Ray and Nikki eating at a diner as a police officer enters. The pair take one look at the new customer and immediately know what to do. As the police officer takes her seat by the corner, Ray and Nikki exchange looks before getting up to leave. The police officer looks on as the pair get into a car as the neon diner sign flickers to reveal the word "die."
It is clear from the way they are acting that they do not want to get involved with the cops. They may have done some illegal things or are just wary of authority. Considering Winstead's character description as a crafty recent parolee, it could be both.
Meanwhile, McGregor's transformation as the balding Ray is very convincing. He is almost unrecognizable in costume. Fans are already looking forward to the debut of McGregor's other character, Emmit, who is Ray's more successful and handsome brother, dubbed the Parking Lot King of Minnesota.
The third season of "Fargo" revolves around the two brothers. Ray has grown jealous of Emmit and blames him for all of his misfortune. Along the way, other characters like Winstead's Nikki enter the picture. Carrie Coon plays divorced police chief Gloria Bugle. David Thewlis' mysterious loner V.M. Vargas, Scott McNairy's Maurice LeFay, Karan Soni's Dr. Homer Gilruth, Fred Melamed's Howard Zimmerman and Thomas Mann's Thaddeus Mobley round out the cast.
It has been teased that the upcoming installment will feature a lot of crime—including mobsters and murderers. It will even include competitive bridge-playing.
So far, two teaser videos have already been released online. The first one, titled "Bang," sees a giant deflating Santa Claus balloon as a fight is heard from a distance. And the second one, titled "AC," sees a lonely air conditioning unit as the camera zooms in to reveal the wintry outdoors.
"Fargo" season 3 will debut on Wednesday, April 19, at 10 p.m. EDT on FX.
