'Fargo' Season 3 Release Date, Plot News: FX Reveals Synopsis; Series to Premiere in April
FX just revealed the synopsis of "Fargo" season 3 and shares the show will premiere in April.
Reports have it that the FX cable network has already saved the date for the crime drama anthology's premiere and that it will be on Wednesday, April 19, at 10 p.m. ET.
Aside from the release date, "Fargo" season 3's plot preview has already been revealed. As seen on the full synopsis found on Screen Rant, the next installment will be set in 2010. This season will feature twins Emmit and Ray Stussy to be played by Ewan McGregor.
Emmit is going to be introduced as the "Parking Lot King of Minnesota" who considers himself a picture of American success. In an earlier report from Entertainment Weekly, Emmit's character was further described as "a handsome, self-made, real estate mogul and family man."
However, his twin, Ray, is very different and is hinted to carry a story referred to as a "cautionary tale." The synopsis on Screen Rant says that Ray, in terms of physical appearance, is a "balding and pot-bellied parole officer with a huge chip on his shoulder" that sounds nothing like his twin brother.
With the highly different ways of how they view themselves, the story steers in a twin rivalry angle. However, it is hinted that they will soon learn to treat each other better after someone commits "petty theft but soon leads to murder, mobsters and cut-throat competitive bridge."
Apart from the twins, fans of "Fargo" will also have to watch out for Carrie Coon's character named Gloria Burgle who is described as being a newly divorced mother while fulfilling her task as chief of the local police department. One of Gloria's struggles is understanding the world where people connect more effectively through mobile phones than they do in personal interactions.
Other characters include Ray's recent parolee girlfriend, Nikki Swango (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), who is described as a crafty woman obsessed with competitive bridge.
What might also thicken the plot is David Thewlis' character named V.M. Vargas who is "a mysterious loner and true capitalist" whose bosses will do whatever it takes to establish a partnership with Emmit and will not take "no" for an answer.
