'Fast and Furious 8' News: Vin Diesel Says His 'Witch Hunter' Character Helped Him Move on from Paul Walker's Loss

While fans of the "Fast and Furious" star Paul Walker are obviously not yet over the fact that he is gone, co-star and long-time best friend Vin Diesel believes he has somehow gotten over the loss of Walker while filming "The Last Witch Hunter."

In an interview with Extra, Diesel said his character in "Witch Hunter" has a similar cause with his experience ever since his best friend's passing. He said fans will very much feel at home with Kaulder, his character, once they meet him.

"Doing this character, at the time that I did it, it's no secret that the last year's been a dark year and probably no coincidence that I played a character that thinks about death in the way that Kaulder does."

Diesel hasn't always been open about how he is coping with Walker's untimely death, but this time, it seems he is ready to face the world and the "Fast" franchise without a dear friend. He has also confirmed that all is well with Walker's daughter, Meadow, and that they are keeping in touch.

Other stars in the franchise have also stated that Walker's loss was indeed a huge blow not only to the production but to the friendships that were made while he was around and doing a lot of work for the team. On the other hand, the crew has since started to move on and pick up from the memories their friend had left.

Meanwhile, he told MTV that he already knows how "Fast 8" will end though he has no details to give out yet. When asked about his "Witch Hunter" co-stars possibly making it in the cast of the future "Fast" films, he said in joking tone, "I think everyone should do the franchise."

He clarified during the interview that he still does not know what the eighth installment will be called since they are still working on other aspects of the film.

The eighth installment for "Fast and Furious" is slated for an April 14, 2017 release.
