'Fast and Furious 8' Update: Vin Diesel Speaks Up About Production Issue Rumors, Promises One Last Trilogy

Ever since "Fast and Furious 8" was announced, fans have made sure to bookmark news that will give them constant updates about the upcoming film. The latest reports though weren't exactly good to hear.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the eighth installment of the FF franchise is going through some difficulties specifically in the production area. The sequel was announced to hit theaters by April 2017. Scriptwriter Chris Morgan is already working on the script. Some old cast members are on board already and new casting is on the process. But one thing is still missing at this point—a director.

The source stated that Universal Studios has not found a director for the next outing yet. It would have probably been a smooth ride if the director of "Fast and Furious 7," James Wan, returns but reports say that he has quit the job because he is planning to direct a sequel to his 2013 horror film "The Conjuring."

Then there were rumors that said Vin Diesel, who plays the lead protagonist character Dominic Toretto, have been "too interfering, difficult and demanding on the sets." The report says that he has been a very corrective producer, questioning even small details on elaborate action sequences. It said that he has been known to be making late night calls to the filmmakers just to fix the script and make him comfortable with his character and dialogue.

But the 48-year old action star clarified things through his high-following Facebook page. He first acknowledged the loyal fans of the FF saga as the best fans in the world. He then recounted his time of being a producer of the film saying, "Since I became the Producer in 2008, you have been with me every step of the way... literally giving me feedback that proved invaluable. Thank you."

He then went on to clarify that no one has yet been given the offer to direct the movie and the script has not been out yet. He shares Universal Studios has been nothing but good to him and he treats them like family. He also promised that there will be "one last trilogy to end the saga." To conclude, he said that his next post will contain the names of the directors of the film.

Vin Diesel did not deny the allegations thrown at him but his spokesperson said that those rumors were "complete nonsense." Wan also denied any friction on set while co-producer Neal Moritz said that if any of those were true, then they would have not pushed through an eighth movie with Vin Diesel.
