'Fear The Walking Dead' Season 2 News: Did Daniel Die?
EPs discuss The most recent episode of "Fear The Walking Dead" season 2 shocked many fans with its dramatic turn of events.
According to Inquistr, the episode picked up after Strand, played by Colman Domingo, shot the love of his life Thomas Abigail. His actions angered Celia, who thought that Strand was willing to die with Thomas. With that, she ordered him and Madison's family to leave her house.
However, things quickly got out of hand when Daniel, played by Ruben Blades, began showing his delusions. Fans saw the ghost of his departed wife, illustrating the turning point of Daniel's character. The episode ended with Daniel burning with the Hacienda, leaving his daughter Ofelia heartbroken.
Meanwhile, the executive producer of the show Dave Erickson shared some hints that Daniel might not be dead at all. He explained that the upcoming episodes of the series will put Ofelia into focus. With that, Ofelia, along with the rest of the group, need to believe that Daniel is already dead.
According to TV Line, Erickson stated, "What's important for the story, specifically for Ofelia, is that all the characters believe that Daniel burned with the compound. We're not going to see Rubén [Blades] in the back half [of Season 2], but my hope is that we will see him resurrected in Season 3 in an organic way. I think there's more story to tell with that character and also more story to tell in that father/daughter relationship."
Aside from Daniel's death, Erickson also spoke about Nick's storyline for the rest of the season. He explained that Nick's departure from the group will bring an interesting twist to the show. He said, "We connect something in the premiere of the back half. We find out he had something in his hand that we didn't know about that makes him a little bit less insane than to just walk off. He also reconnects with someone when we come back in Episode 8."
"Fear The Walking Dead" Season 2 is expected to return later this year.
