'Fear the Walking Dead' Season 2 News: Exec Talks 'Regular Person' Concept for Upcoming Season
During the New York Comic-Con, creator Robert Kirkman said "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 will revolve around how "regular" people will struggle in adjusting to a zombie situation with no knowledge about handling weapons or fighting the dead.
It is not a surprise among fans that season 2 of the zombie-packed series will be once again filled with bloodshed, gore, and possibly deaths of one or two leads. However, Kirkman said something that would set "Fear" from "The Walking Dead" is the show's concept that wasn't very much tackled in the latter: a "regular" person's ways of coping with a zombie trying to get a piece of skin.
According to IGN, Kirkman said, "So on Fear, we get to see how a regular person like Travis would react to these situations." He also cited Glenn's shotgun and shooting scene in the first season where the "pizza boy" was forced to use a gun to save his life.

Aside from discussing how he conceptualized the upcoming installment, Kirkman also addressed questions about the cast getting into water and splashing around with the dead. "There's definitely some zombie water action coming up," he said. On the other hand, he clarified that his statement didn't necessarily mean that the entire season will be focused on the leads fighting zombies all the time while on a boat, but instead, "It will be a seafaring adventure."
While season 2's premiere is expected to pick up from season 1's finale, Kirkman is looking forward to proving that there is slim hope of survival no matter where man runs, not even in the wide, blue sea.
Meanwhile, the production team is promising more chills and thrills in the second season. It is only acceptable that the leads will most probably explore the unthinkable in order to survive, just as Travis (Cliff Curtis) painfully shot his ex-wife and Daniel (Rubén Blades) had to shoot his wife in season 1.
"Fear the Walking Dead" is expected to release sometime in 2016.
