'Fear the Walking Dead' Season 3 Arrives in June; Synopsis Teases Reunion Between Nick and Family
The third season of "Fear the Walking Dead" is arriving this summer, ahead of the "Walking Dead" season 8 premiere. AMC has confirmed that the "Walking Dead" spin-off series will hit TV screens with back-to-back episodes in June.
"The Walking Dead" season 7 ended on Sunday night with a brutal face-off between Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and Rick (Andrew Lincoln), setting up an even more intense conflict in season 8. While fans have to wait until October for the new episodes, the good news is that they can see more of "The Walking Dead's" grim, death-filled world through its spin-off series, "Fear the Walking Dead," which arrives a few months earlier.
"Fear the Walking Dead" season 3 will mark the final work of showrunner David Erickson under the franchise, as he is moving on to develop other projects for AMC. Erickson has been one of the showrunners of the show since its debut, so fans can expect a significant shake-up soon.
It can be recalled that "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 finale saw some major developments in the group of survivors. Nick (Frank Dillane) and Luciana (Danay Garcia) left the community and headed north to flee from Marco (Alejandro Edda) and the bandits after convincing Alejandro (Paul Calderon) to evacuate. Elsewhere in the episode, Travis (Cliff Curtis) broke a major rule, forcing him, Madison (Kim Dickens) and Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) to leave the hotel. Together, they set off for the community to find Nick, only to discover that he was already gone.
An early synopsis for the upcoming season reveals a reunion between Nick and his family somewhere in the border region of the United States and Mexico and an emotional turmoil for Alicia, who killed Andres (Raul Casso) in the previous season. The new season will also find Nick losing his sense of immortality and Ofelia (Mercedes Mason) doing all she can to survive while in captivity.
"Fear the Walking Dead" season 3 premieres on Sunday, June 4 at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
