Fergie Unveils Baby Axl Jack Duhamel (PHOTO)
Singer Fergie recently debuted the very first photo of her newborn son, Axl Jack Duhamel, on social networking site Instagram.
The Black Eyed Peas singer, whose real name is Stacy Ann Ferguson, gave birth to her and actor Josh Duhamel's first child on Aug. 29 and on Tuesday fans got a first glimpse of the newborn. Baby Axl, who weighed in at 7 lbs., 10 oz., appeared to be undergoing a standard hearing test in the viral photo.
"Axl Jack Duhamel. Day 2 of life. Hearing test complete. All systems go. #chillin," Fergie wrote in the Instagram photo caption on Sept. 17.
Just one day prior, Duhamel, who is still adjusting to fatherhood, did not give any hints as to when the first baby photo would be released. One of the actor's Twitter followers asked when baby Axl would be publicly unveiled.
"Right now we just want him all to ourselves," Duhamel tweeted.
In 2004, Fergie, 38, began dating Duhamel, 40, and the couple eventually wed in 2009 in a Catholic ceremony. The pop star reportedly underwent a C-section in a Los Angeles hospital in recent weeks.
Fergie recently expressed her excitement about becoming a first time mom during an interview with "Good Morning America."
"We're thrilled! I know that my husband told everybody what I said. My quote when we found out [was] 'This s--- just got real,'" Fergie joked to ABC's Lara Spencer ahead of the birth.
"But it's true, when that moment occurs to you, there's going to be a human being growing inside of you … it's reality," she continued. "It's amazing, we're thrilled."
The "Fergalicious" singer confirmed her pregnancy in March during which she shared details about suffering morning sickness. Reports claim she used acupuncture, Chinese herbs and water to overcome nausea.
"I'm feeling great, I had a little bit [of morning sickness] in the beginning," she said. "But very little."
The new mom admitted that while she and Duhamel are eager to become parents, she is not fully prepared.
"I have no idea what I'm doing!" Fergie revealed. "I'm just going to play it by ear and see how things go, and let the natural instincts kick in."
