Fifth Harmony Breakup Rumors: Normani Kordei Clears the Air on Solo Management Deal

Fans of Fifth Harmony can rest assured knowing that the girl group is here to stay.

Normani Kordei has cleared up rumors that she is leaving Fifth Harmony, which would have made her the second member to depart the group. Fans first became worried that it was the end of Fifth Harmony after news broke that Kordei signed a solo management deal with S10 Entertainment & Media.

According to Billboard, the 21-year-old inked the deal and will be known simply as NORMANI in her solo endeavors.

"Normani is an incredibly special artist and I am excited to work with her," S10 Entertainment & Media boss Brandon Silverstein said in a statement to the publication.

While it is understandable why fans would be concerned about the future of Fifth Harmony, Kordei herself has reassured them that there is no reason to fret. While speaking to Entertainment Tonight, the singer revealed that the whole thing was "misconstrued and misread and just taken out of context."

"I'm like, no, I'm not leaving my group. I would never," she said. "We're on such a high right now. We're at our peak. It would be dumb at this point, and it's not what I want to do with my heart and soul. That wasn't even a thought."

She also explained the reason behind her decision to sign a solo management deal. "All it is, is that I got my own manager to kind of help guide me with whatever it is that I want to do aside from the group," she assured. "That's all it is."

Fifth Harmony now only has four members after the sudden departure of Camila Cabello back in December 2016. Both Cabello and her former girl group performed at the recent Latin American Music Awards, though they were not seen together.
