'Final Fantasy 15' DLC Release Date: New Multiplayer Content 'Comrades' Announced, Square Enix Teases Extended Post-Launch Support
Square Enix has announced multiplayer downloadable content (DLC) for "Final Fantasy 15," where players will get to team up with friends.
The new expansion titled "Comrades" will to create their own character and play with three other friends in quests and battles. Considering how massive the game is, the DLC also allowed Square Enix to fill in a gap in the main story.
Spoiler Alert! The following discusses details about a certain portion of "Final Fantasy 15." Those who have yet to finish the game should read at their own discretion.
The DLC is set during the time when Noctis mysteriously vanishes for a while. It will be up to the players, as the Kingsglaive, to learn more about his whereabouts and disappearance.
During this "Final Fantasy 15" DLC, gamers will get to go on missions and engage in combat. They will have at their disposal a rich selection of weapons and attack patterns. Just like in the main game, players can also have Cid Sophiar customize these weapons and also tap refugees to take on different roles within the city.
Players can also collect meteor shards in the "Comrades" DLC, which they can use to restore an electric power grid in the Exineris power plant in Lestallum.
In the "Final Fantasy 15" multiplayer expansion, players can also select one of many Royal Sigils to determine the role that their character will play during battle, which will include the tank, healer and damage dealer. Each sigil comes with unique abilities.
The "Comrades" DLC will be made available on Oct. 31. There is no pricing information yet although Season Pass owners will get it at no extra charge. It goes without saying that players will also need either an Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus subscription is to access the multiplayer expansion.
During the latest Active Time Report, Square Enix said that "Final Fantasy 15" will continue to get DLCs that fill up the gap in the main story well into 2018, which means the "Episode Ignis" DLC coming this December won't be the last.
