'Final Fantasy 7 Remake' News: 'Essence' of the Original Will Remain in the Upcoming Game,' Says Director

'Popular' things present in the original game will also be retained in the 'Final Fantasy 7 Remake'

It's no secret that the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" will look and probably even play quite differently from the original title that was released all those many years ago. However, that doesn't mean that every little aspect of the new game will be unfamiliar to fans.

Some of the developers behind the remake have recently talked about which parts of the original will still be present in the new game.

Director Tetsuya Nomura recently spoke to different media outlets at the MAGIC 2017 event in Monaco and he also took some time to address some questions regarding his upcoming projects.

KH13 provided a translation of the interview.

At one point in the interview, Nomura was asked by Final Fantasy Dream if the maturity that was prominently featured in the original would still be included in the remake.

Nomura replied, indicating that while many things may change, "the essence of the universe will not."

Notably, producer Yoshinori Kitase also hinted previously that certain parts of the original game will still be featured again in the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake."

Speaking recently to Famitsu, Kitase was also asked about which elements of the original may still show up again in the remake.

According to the translation of that interview provided by Gematsu, Kitase noted that the "popular" elements of the original will again be included in the remake.

That's a sensible move for the developers to make, as that would seemingly allow them to finally address whatever issues that may have existed with the original that couldn't be repaired before since patches and updates weren't really made available back then.

On top of that, keeping all the perceived positive elements of the original should give the remake a better opportunity to still appeal to older fans.

More news about the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" and what it will feature should be made available in the near future.
