'Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward' New Trailer Released (VIDEO)
Square Enix has just released its new "Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward" trailer yesterday showing the expansion for their latest MMORPG "Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn.
A new full-length trailer to the "Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn's" first real expansion, "Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward" hit YouTube yesterday as Square Enix prepped gamers for the June 23 release of the DLC.
Announced last year during the Las Vegas Fan Fest, the expansion pack was originally planned for a spring 2015 release, but was pushed back for the summer to allow for bug detection and removal, as well as additional polishing.
"Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward" will also be available for Mac consoles on the same day as its release for Microsoft Windows and PS 4, making it the game's first title on Apple computers.
"Heavensward" will retain Ishgard as the storyline's main location, with news emerging from Square Enix that players will finally get to fly in the midst of trying to solve a "great conflict that spans across millennia."
Players should expect an expanded playable area, with new environments opening up in parts of Eorzea, enlarging the Coerthas Central Highlands, all the way way up into the skies over the Sea of Clouds and their floating landmasses. New domains like Dravania and other beast-ruled tribes will be added.
Players will also get to experience the Dragonsong War first hand, a bloody conflict between Dravania and Ishgard spanning thousands of years. The story arc occurs after the events of "Before the Fall," where the Ul'Dah's syndicate and Lolorito frame the Warriors of Light for Nanamo Ul Namo's assassination.
The disgraced warriors, facing the apparent destruction of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, make their escape but become entangled in the Dragonsong War in the process.
